The Meal That Heals

I heard a preacher say about pastor's and the church...the pastor is to serve the congregation yes but they are not his master. I felt led to share that with you before I begin today's bread.

The Meal That Heals...This message will take several days to share. A very dear sister in Christ sent the book to me all the way from Texas. God has given her a gift when it comes to praying. When I found out I had breast cancer I immediately emailed her and asked her for prayer. It has been life changing for me. This lady has gone through breast cancer and is sharing with me what God has been sharing with her. It is funny how God brings people in our lives. His people. I believe God smiles when He sees us loving one another. God intended for the body to be powerful and united. My prayer is that brothers and sisters in Christ will become united not allowing satan to rip us apart. He loves it when we are against each other. He works hard at it.

The things I will be sharing came from this book “the meal that heals”.

Ø Atonement
Ø Carrying What We Do Not Need To Carry
Ø Biblical Methods of Healing Ø The Meal That Heals
Ø The Meal that Fills – Receiving Communion

Romans 10:17
So then, faith cometh by hearing and hearing the Word of God.

Atonement:
Isaiah 53:5 – I encourage you to read the full chapter. 4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

In this chapter the book speaks about a three part atonement.
Ø He was wounded for our transgression and bruised for our iniquity. This speaks of spiritual healing and is related to the forgiveness of sin.

Ø The chastisement of our peace was upon him. This speaks of emotional healing for the mind and soul.
Ø With His stripes we are healed. This refers to physical healing for the body.
No one knows how long we are going to be on earth but from Scripture given to us, we would assume that God intends for us to live a full life. Psalm 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.

Some Scripture indicating that God blessed His people with a long life - Genesis 15:15, Judges 8:32, 1 Chronicles 29:28, Isaiah 46:4, Job 42:16-17, Psalms 90:10.

Matthew 10:8 - Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

1 Thes.5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When Christ died on the Cross He not only gave us eternal life but so much more. It is the will of God to keep our tri-part being (body, soul and spirit) preserved until such time that our life is complete or until Christ returns, whichever comes first.

Again I urge you to read Isaiah 53 and to be open to all that God has for us. Open the Word and begin the journey of learning the God of Love. He is just waiting to bless His people. What an awesome God we serve.

Healed – to restore to original purity. To make sound or whole.

Ephesians 4

What He is calling me to be…thriving for Holiness When we say as Christians we have accepted Christ’s calling on our life, what exactly are we saying? Please look in Ephesians 4. Paul writes this letter so that his readers might better understand God’s eternal purposes for the church. The purpose of reconciling people to God and to each other through the work of Jesus on the Cross.

Ephesians 4

  • Living a life worthy of the calling we received.
  • Being completely humble, gentle, patient, bearing with one another in love.
  • Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
  • There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called. One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
  • It was he who gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
  • To not be tossed to and fro by every wind of teaching.
  • Speaking the Truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the head that is Christ.
  • From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
  • To no longer walk in darkness. To no longer give yourselves to every kind of impurity with a continual lust for more.
  • Put off your old self and your former way of life.
  • To be made new in the attitude of your minds and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
  • Put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of ONE body.
  • Doing something useful with your own hands, that you may have something to share with those in need.
  • Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs.
  • And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
  • Get rid of bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

I urge everyone to read in full Ephesians. Pray for one another and for their walk with Christ. May it be a beautiful, peaceful and joyful journey for all who have accepted His calling on our lives. Praise His name for calling us to be His Holy people. Amen!

    Sin – Confession – The Body…

2 Chronicles 6: 36 "When they sin against you—for there is no one who does not sin—and you become angry with them and give them over to the enemy, who takes them captive to a land far away or near; 37 and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity and say, 'We have sinned, we have done wrong and acted wickedly'; 38 and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken, and pray toward the land you gave their fathers, toward the city you have chosen and toward the temple I have built for your Name; 39 then from heaven, your dwelling place, hear their prayer and their pleas, and uphold their cause. And forgive your people, who have sinned against you. 40 "Now, my God, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 41 "Now arise, O LORD God, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. May your priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, may your saints rejoice in your goodness. 42 O LORD God, do not reject your anointed one.

Sin: Psalm66: 18If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
What is sin? Sin is anything we do against God, His Word and His calling. Yes we are sinners but that does not give us the license to outwardly sin AND THEN become comfortable in our sin. We as Christians need to get serious about the sin in our lives and the lives of our brothers and sisters. We are called to be a holy people. Exodus 22:31 "You are to be my holy people.

How seriously are you looking at sin in your life? Do you say, I am a sinner and there isn’t anything I can do about that or does your heart cry out to the Lord because you have sinned against him? Sin is serious. In the passage above it says “and if” they turn back to you. When you sin do you repent and beg for forgiveness? Do you turn back to him with all your heart and soul or know you will be doing the same thing tomorrow?

Confession and the body and how important it is to be surrounded by the body of Christ. Leviticus5:5 'When anyone is guilty in any of these ways, he must confess in what way he has sinned. Proverbs 28:13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

It is time for us to seriously look at the sin in our lives, confess, repent and turn back to God and have the body praying for us. So, today I am confessing my sin, repenting and turning back to God, (believe it or not, when we sin, we are turning away from God) and asking the body to pray for me. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. God has shown us over and over again that we need the body of Christ. Christ is the church and we are the body. We need their prayers. The word tells us to confess and pray for each other. So, I am confessing to you my sin: I am telling you my sin with a broken heart and a repentant heart...I have not been tithing, I do not have a church and I have disobeyed God's voice. I need your prayers. I need my brothers and sisters to lift me up to the Lord in the same way Solomon did in the passage above.

Dear Father, we need You and the body You have given us. Do not let us sin by not praying for one another. Let us begin to take prayer, talking to You more seriously than ever before. Do not let us sin by not confessing our sins to one another. We need each other Lord. I pray that You show each and everyone reading this bread to understand the importance of being surrounded by Your body and trusting Your body to become a holy people. Show each and every one of us that we need each other. Your word says to confess and pray for each other so that we may be healed. Lord, we want to be healed. We want to be holy. Please search our hearts and cleanse us from all sin. It is in Your name that we pray. Amen.

Feeding the Spirit within us…Hearing His voice

John 10: 3The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice." 6Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them. 14"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."

Genesis 16:13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her

Genesis 24:7 "The LORD, the God of heaven, who brought me out of my father's household and my native land and who spoke to me and promised me on oath, saying, 'To your offspring I will give this land'-he will send his angel before you so that you can get a wife for my son from there.

Jeremiah30:2 "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you. When I accepted God’s calling on my life I immediately began reading His Word. I began feeding the Spirit inside me. In order to know God, who is the same today as He was yesterday, we MUST read His Word. It is imperative that we “learn the Word”. It is imperative that we know His voice. If you cannot hear His voice, you cannot follow Him. God speaks to His people and His people know His voice. When you hear His voice you must follow Him.

Jeremiah 31:33 "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

I heard God’s voice and I didn’t listen. I knew I was being disobedient to His calling on my life. When I found out I had breast cancer, I took a long hard look at my life and knew that I had to make some serious changes in my life beginning with obeying His voice. I thank God for being so near to me. For His love and correction. I wouldn’t trade my life in Him for anything but looking at my life the last year, you may not have thought so.

I want to make clear that God “did not give me” breast cancer for my disobedience. However, He is using it for His purpose in my life. Amen!

Tomorrow I will talk about my sin, confession and the body. Dear Father, I pray that you give us the yearning to read Your Word and the yearning to hear Your voice. We know Lord that it isn’t enough to go to church and hear a 20 minute sermon and think that we have been fed. It is about reading Your Word and spending time getting to know You personally. There is nothing like it but yet we tend to make other things in our life a priority. Lord help us to draw closer to You. It is in Your Holy name we pray. Amen.

    I John 1:9

In the book titled “The Meal That Heals” by Perry Stone Jr., he stated, “Some live as a Christian double agent – close enough to the things of God that they cannot enjoy sinning, but close enough to the world that they don’t enjoy God’s presence.”

On August 19Th, I found out I had breast cancer. When I heard malignant I couldn’t help but think I could die from this. Immediately I began looking at my life. I immediately begged for God’s mercy. I begged for forgiveness for NOT living in step with His purpose for my life. I want to make it clear that I knew when I asked for forgiveness He forgave me. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. I also knew that I was being disobedient to His calling on my life, which is, to be a holy people. I also know that the only reason I can use Holy or Righteous in any way pertaining to my life is by the blood of Jesus Christ and His dwelling inside my heart. 1 John 1:4-8-In these things I write unto you that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard from Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ is Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us.

I am going to share with you what God has been showing me through yet another trial:

    1. My Sin, confession and the body.
    2. What He is calling me to be…thriving for Holiness
    3. My Sheep will know My voice. Feeding the Spirit within us.
    4. The Meal that Heals-beginning of atonement, commuion, healing....and more.

Dear Father, give us the desire to pick up Your Word and feed the Spirit within us. Lord, we know if we are not in the Word we are not feeding the Spirit. We know that if we are not receiving our daily bread we can become weak. Lord help us to desire You in a way like never before. Lord, we want to be holy. We want to walk in Your ways. We desire a deeper relationship with You. Help us Lord, to become what you want us to be here on earth. It is in Your name we pray. Amen
